It is the opinion of the author that such a catalogue of determining factors has escaped the scrutiny of the fellowship both in the past and the present, as its burgeoning membership may have increasingly hampered its ability to sustain those practical initiatives which are relevant to its tradition of service. Alcoholics Ambiguous means to quell any confusion abroad in the meeting rooms about the true message of recovery, and to draw AA's attention to how ideological changes within the fellowship have slowly led to a subtle embargo on the development of its own progress.

About the Author
Latimer Riley was born in London in 1957. He has been a sober member of Alcoholics Anonymous since early 1982. For the last 10 years he has been living and working in the Canary Islands. Latimer has a background in the tourism industry but has also worked as a tutor and an assessor in that same field. Alcoholics Ambiguous is his first book. www.latimerriley.com

Remarkable, Refreshing

This is a remarkable book - an oasis for the real alcoholic who is lost in the equivocal desert of AA ideology. His immaculate exposition of Step 1 could serve to shine the light of truth on the experience of anyone who has been around the rooms for a long time and just can't seem to capture true recovery. This book helped me to break through some of my own stubborn misinterpretations and have a new experience with the Big Book; an experience which has proved to be invaluable. Check it out!!

Brilliant book.

This is a brilliantly written book by a very intelligent man. The author is not afraid to take a hard look at the fellowship and discuss his view point. If you are a true Big Book advocate, this book is for you. It is not for the middle of the road type approach to recovery.
